I am so happy to share with you the Cricut Anniversary Card I designed using Cricut Design Space. This was for a very special Wedding Anniversary for my Parents celebrating their 60th Anniversary. So special right? I want to share my file with you in case you’d like to make or modify it too!
I designed this Wedding Anniversary Card with using my Cricut Maker in mind. But not to worry, you can modify it to use your Cricut Explore or Cricut Joy with 2 simple changes.
I also created an Anniversary gift of a 4 layer Shadow Box Paper Art project with lights and includes a FREE file for any cutting machine or even a pair of scissors or exact-o knife type blade if you missed it.
I used these 3 Cricut Maker Tools in my design
- Debossing Tip (fine) # 21
- Wavy Blade # 31
- Deep Point Blade w/ Housing (to cut craft foam)
If you will be using a Cricut Explore or a Cricut Joy, here are a few suggestions to modify my file:
- In place of the Debossing design on 2 squares, change the file type to Draw instead of debossing. Or simply choose a different image.
- In place of the Wavy Tip, search for a scalloped square in Design Space (they have a few choices), Or if you have the scalloped scissors or die set you can get a wavy type of edge as well.
- I hope these suggestions help inspire you to create this card. It’s truly lovely in person.
For the purpose of this tutorial, I will be covering the instructions while using a Cricut Maker.
For those who want to jump to the video, here ya go! I also include a ton of tips in this video. I created it with beginners in mind. If you are more advanced feel free to skip ahead at times or fast forward 👌

Supplies
- My Cricut Design Space File
- White Cardstock
- Shimmer paper
- Craft foam I used
- Doubled sided tape I used
- Glue I used
I normally just link products I used but I want to emphasize the exact products I used to set you up for success with this project. One of the reasons why this card looks so elegant is due to the materials carefully chosen and used. Please note, several times recently (years after this post), I’ve checked Cricut’s website to not be able to find the exact shimmer paper I used. It appears they may not carry it any longer. I am sorry about this. I’m sure you can find something similar at your local craft store or scrapbook store.
The products I chose are also quality products that help create the Cricut Anniversary Card so beautifully!
The Process to create a special Cricut Anniversary Card
When I have a project using materials I’m not always using, I love to perform a few test cuts first. So lucky for you, I will go over just how easy it is to perform a few test cuts.
How to do Test Cuts in Cricut Design Space
This is so important for several reasons. First, it saves you money by not wasting materials, often times possibly expensive materials that you may even have in short supply.
Secondly, it builds your crafting confidence & knowledge! Yup, it does! When this happens, you carry that confidence with you throughout your day and life. Now that’s a Win-Win 🙌
With this Cricut Anniversary Card Project, I have 3 cuts I’m concerned with, especially if YOU have not cut these 3 materials before.
- Shimmer paper is cut with the Cricut Wavy Blade
- Craft foam on a strong grip mat using the Black Cricut Deep Cut Blade with Housing
- A very Delicate Doily using a fine point blade, we need to ensure there are no off issues with your fine point blade and cutting mat.
To help set you up for success, I included the test cut templates grouped together in the exact size you will want to test and also included helpful written instructions in my Resource Library to assist you if you have never done test cuts before.

Grab your instructions in my Resource Library. While you are there, be sure to get your Cricut Design Space File for this Anniversary Card Project too!

Plus you can also watch my video of this project to see how I test my cuts! Yay!
Now, there are several different ways to perform test cuts. I’m going to show you in the video what I consider the EASIEST way in case you are new to doing them. Once you feel like a pro, I can show you quicker ways if you like. Easy is good and simple and simple also builds crafting confidence! 😊

Designing
Have you been looking for Anniversary Card Ideas?
I have already designed this Cricut Anniversary Card for you if you plan on using a Cricut Maker. If you are using a Cricut Explore or Cricut Joy see above where I point out what design changes I suggest.
Other suggestions I may have would be to change the color of the shimmer paper and year if you wanted to make an anniversary card for the 50th wedding anniversary. You would switch to gold shimmer paper instead of silver and change the font from 60 to 50.
Hope this makes sense and will allow you to fine-tune my file for your wishes.
Cutting
- Perform Test cuts per instructions in my video of this project
- Turn on all layers you will be needing to make the card
- Make sure unneeded layers are turned off in the layers panel
- Be sure you know where in Cricut Design Space to change your material selection in between cuts while making the card. If you are unsure, I show this process in this video.
- The envelope in this file requires a long Cricut mat. You can simply turn the envelope layer off if you don’t want to use it. I used one of these envelopes for this card instead.
See the blue square in the screenshot below. This is the drop-down arrow you will select to change your materials while cutting your project while in Design Space.

Once you’ve cut all the pieces to your project it’s time to put it all together!
Assembling Anniversary Card

- The next size bigger doily in Cricut white cardstock
- The small size of white craft foam
- The next size bigger doily in Cricut white cardstock
- One of the larger size white craft foam
- The large silver shimmer paper doily
- One of the larger size white craft foam
- The Debossed layer square in Cricut white cardstock
- Plain square of Cricut white cardstock
- Silver Shimmer paper layer cut with the Cricut wavy blade
- Largest square of Cricut white cardstock
- The base of the entire card is Cricut white cardstock with a scoreline.

Inside of card on the right side from the top layer to bottom layer
- The white Cricut cardstock with writing and deboss on it
- Silver Shimmer paper layer cut with the Cricut wavy blade
- The base of the entire card is Cricut white cardstock with a scoreline.
It’s actually quite difficult to get a really good picture to show you how beautiful the silver shimmer paper is. I highly recommend it. It simply has such a remarkable shimmer to it without overdoing it. Plus no mess of glitter. Yay!
Close-up pictures of the card layers
I wanted to share some close-up photos of how amazing all the layers come together.
When you give your card dimension it sets it apart from ordinary cards.

I find it truly amazing what our Cricut machines can do. I can not even imagine fussy cutting all these layers out by hand precisely.

The craft foam between some of the layers allows the card to be nice and even all the way through the project. Just look at that dimension!

What a nice subtle touch the deboss tip adds to this special Cricut Anniversary Card.

I love all the beautiful elements Cricut can cut out so meticulously and beautifully.
The attention to detail in this card and keeping the card to only two colors help enhance the simple yet elegant theme for this special card.

I am having trouble changing the 60 to 50, can you please advise. Thank you
Hi M, I updated the file to include 50 (thanks for the great idea!) But for reference, you would click on the 60 and click on duplicate. Then double click on 60 again and it will allow you to backspace the 6 out and add the 5, then select the 50 one more time and click on attach. I hope this helps in time 😊
I am having issues with my debossing tip. When I go to make the more intricate debossing for the background of the card, the debossing tip is ripping my paper. Have you ever had this happen and if you did, how did you fix it? I have tried different weights of cardstock, i have tried different mats (light grip and standard grip) and with all those attempts, it still rips my paper.
Hi Amy, Oh no! I’ve never had this issue but I am wondering now what is the number showing on the side of the debossing tip? It should show #21 if you are using the Cricut Maker. I hope this helps. Let me know!
