We can now copy and paste from one project to another project in Cricut Design Space. I feel like we all received a gift as it’s extremely helpful to us while designing our projects and being efficient with our time. Let me show you just how easy this is and why we would use this new feature!
Imagine for a moment, you are running late for your niece’s 6th birthday party and it just dawned on you that you promised your sister to bring that super cute mermaid gift tag and a birthday card to match that you gave your daughter last year.
Your niece is all about mermaids and loves sparkle glittery things and that is exactly how you designed your daughter’s gift packaging last year.
But have no fear, all you have to do at this point is quickly run to Cricut Design Space and bring up that super cute gift tag with the mermaid and copy and paste that image you designed into a new project. So you have opened up your original mermaid file from last year and simply copy and paste this image into a new Cricut Design Space project. You duplicate the mermaid from the tag and change the color and material and use it for the Birthday card. Bam! Done. Yay! Celebrate!
Ok, this is just one minor situation where this new copy and paste feature will come in handy. I could go on and on.
Many have been asking for this very feature for quite some time and Cricut sure delivered!
Which Cricut Design Space Version has this new feature
Table of Contents
You need to have v6.0.14 or a higher version number. For example, I am currently on v6.1.148 and it works great. With most software updates they roll them out to a group at a time. If you are not updated yet, it’s only a matter of time before it arrives for you.
If you need to find out which version of Cricut Design Space you are on, simply open up Design Space from a Desktop Computer and look in the upper left-hand corner of the application as shown here.

If for some reason you can not see your version as shown above, you can click on the “Help” option and then click on “about”.

Can you copy and paste from one project to another with the iPad or smartphones?
At this time you can not. You can duplicate images within these smart apps but not copy and paste from one project to another project just yet. When they do, I’ll be sure to pass on the information to you as I know how important this will be as well. 🙏
